Summer in Pequot Lakes, MN
Debbie and Chris
left after getting their windshield fixed. They are now on their way to their
summer home in Michigan. The repair company said their's was the largest
windshield they have ever replaced. A large motor coach has a very big front
window!
The temps here are
low in the 50's and highs in the 70's. The sun is pretty intense but the shade
is very nice. It gets dark about 9:30 and light at about 5:00 a.m.
Nisswa, a little
town a few minutes south of Pequot Lakes, has a charming downtown area. Since
the weather has turned warm people are out everywhere. We stopped at an ice
cream place. Seems every little town has one, but this one was soooo good.
Our next door Camp
Host neighbors just got a new mini smoker/grill. We were invited to bring our
meat over to grill with theirs. They smoked chicken the night before and the
finished chicken was "succulent" according to the cook. I think I
might see one of those cookers in our future….We are thankful the other Camp
Hosts are so nice and easy to work with.
Lunch at Lucky's, a
grill in Pequot Lakes. Great burgers!!
The camp ground is
mostly "seasonals." They leave their RV here and come up over the
weekends. A few are here for the summer from Arizona, etc. Then there are some who are here for a week or a weekend. There is a hockey camp near here and we will have some people staying here while there son is in camp. We have enjoyed
getting to know some of them. One evening a couple came over and we visited
until almost dark. It was nice with a few gnats flitting around, but so far no mosquitoes!!

He found another big machine to drive!! |
You two are having so much fun! Love your posts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Especially love the irises and Dennis's ice cream. Do y'all have access to a storm shelter there? I've been watching the weather news and it seems like MN has been having some rough weather -- hope it hasn't been close to y'all.
ReplyDeleteThere is a basement available in the "lodge" building were the campground office is. There have been a few thunderstorms roll through, but right where we are it has been mostly nice rain. I think most of the more troublesome weather has been to the east of us. Minneapolis and St. Paul have had really bad hail.
ReplyDeleteWe work 3 days. Then 4 days off. Life is good.
High today 75F. Low tonight 52F. Sunshine!
Thanks for asking. I hope things are well with you all.
Need to catch up with your blogs. My summer has been very full. Slowing down some now although we are caring for Warrens dad at least I'm in the same state for awhile. Made rhubbard and strawberry crisp last night. We pick it on our land. Great stuff. Take care! Glad you were there for that fire. Thank God!
