SPRING 2018: LAKE LIVINGSTON STATE PARK

After leaving Galveston we went to Lake Livingston State Park to meet some friends for a few days before taking the RV back to storage.
The weather was a little cool the first day, but has been perfect weather since.

The state park has a lot of campsites, but one loop has full hookups and is directly on the lake. To get one of these sites you have to book months in advance.

We are booking for a few days in the fall and  had to take a spot across from the lake (but with good views) because the lakefront were already booked - and we booked for weekdays, not weekend!

I know this fisherman!

We sit at our site and watch fishermen,
people walking, and sun shining down on the water.

One morning we took a nature walk. The walk is on a boardwalk and goes into the woods where wildflowers bloom and trees reach to the sky.
There are LOTS of poison ivy! Fields of it!!
Blackberries getting ready to ripen.

Serious conversation....

The birds and squirrels are numerous here in the park. Our official campsite squirrel loves nuts and popcorn and and has become one of the family here.
We mostly enjoy relaxing, reading, just watching the lake, and visiting with our friends and other campers; a beautiful, peaceful spot before returning home and resuming our busy lives.
