Lake Conroe campsite

Brooklyn Bridge NYC

Last year at this time we were on route to New York. Lots of things happened on that trip and traveling back home. I am still in awe we actually did that!

That blog is NewYorkandMoreRV.blogspot.com  for those who are interested in that trip.

This year won't be quite so exciting, but we are going to have fun going North into Kansas and then meeting friends and family at Branson.

Our summer was eventful and hot!! We had an RV summer like no other - except we did not go anywhere in it. Short  version: Dennis went to put new tires on and found the brakes, axles were not good. To keep from going to dealer where it takes forever to get anything fixed we went to a recommended truck repair place. Thankfully, the repair was covered under our extended warranty. However, as it turns out, the parts are ordered from the same place as the dealer's, so we had to wait for parts. Then the repair place broke some things fixing it.  They actually dropped the whole RV on the ground….They covered the costs, but  the repairs went on and on and on….. We took it to a place we trust to have it thoroughly looked over. Mostly good, except one thing  - that at first seemed like a huge thing. So, back to the truck repair place and worrying that the entire RV might be totaled. All in all, everything is working now to our satisfaction and the truck repair place made good on everything. Except the RV was in repair for 10 weeks. Everyone who owns an RV should have at least one big repair story to tell, huh?????

At this writing, we are at Lake Conroe Thousand Trails for 4 days to make sure all is in good order before heading North. It's rough here.

We are camped with trees and shade. The hot weather has broken and we spent the afternoon at the pool.

Also, we learned that even people from other countries like RV ing in the US. A man who was at the pool came over from England, purchased an RV and is touring the country for 6 months.

And so far, everything in our RV is working fine!!!!

Will get back to you when we hit the road in a couple of weeks.
